 Borussia Dortmund will have to beat FK Agdam Qarabag from Azerbaijan over two legs to get into the group stages of the Europe League. The first leg of the play-offs is on 19 August 2010 at the Signal Iduna Park, the decisive second leg a week later, on 26 August, in Baku, a city on the Caspian Sea.
In Friday afternoon´s draw in Nyon (Switzerland), BVB was one of the 37 teams seeded and so avoided any of the big guns of European football. The UEFA had divided the clubs in seven groups - five of 10 teams and two of 12 - with an equal number of sides seeded and unseeded. Possible opponents for BVB had been Grasshopper Club Zürich (SUI), Trabzonspor AS (TUR), FC Utrecht (NED), AIK Solna (SWE), and FK Agdam Qarabag from Azerbaijan - on paper, with a coefficient of 2,599, the easiest draw.
